Title: The Rules of Torchwood Three
Characters: Team
Spoilers: Through 2.13.
Rating: PG, Gen.
Author's Notes: Credit to [info]nardo218 for the Matrix screen saver line. Also, [info]ak_alterego has created a graphical version of this with awesome handwriting and layout. If you'd like to comment, you can do so here.

The Rules spawned a series of stories now known as the Rulesverse, centred around an OC named Nicholas who comes to work for Torchwood after Jack's disappearing act at the end of Season One. You can find them in order at the rulesverse tag, or via the following links:

Nicholas Redux
The TARDIS House Rules
International Rules
The Rules of Social Conduct

First posted 2.20.08

Summary:

Imagine, if you will, a raw recruit to Torchwood, stood purposefully in front of a large whiteboard in a corner of the Hub.

"Memorize them," Ianto tells him, claps him on the shoulder, and wanders off.

THE RULES OF TORCHWOOD THREE )

Updated for 2.13, Exit Wounds. )
Alternate Universe
Note: This story is an Alternate Universe story officially, rather than being "mildly AU to canon". It takes place during Men At Arms, canonically, and retcons both MAA and Guards!Guards!.

Transformations )
9th-Jul-2005 08:20 am - Either Way; PG.
Discworld: Vetinari
This falls sometime after The Night Watch in the books and after Maybe It's the Uniform in my fanfictional timeline. It was originally posted as two separate stories, Either Way and Afterburn.

Either Way )
9th-Jul-2005 08:05 am - Patterns; PG-13.
Discworld: Vimes
This falls after The Night Watch in the books and after The Great Morporkian Pastime in my fanfiction timeline.

Patterns )
9th-Jul-2005 07:45 am - The Piecemaker: PG.
Discworld: Watch
Note: This was the first Discworld fanfic I ever wrote. It is dear to my heart, as the tale of one being's determination to make the world a better place...or at least, a place with more spiky bits to threaten the bad guys with. It falls after "Curtains" in my fanfiction timeline and between Feet Of Clay and The Fifth Elephant in the books.

The Piecemaker )
Discworld: Vetinari
This comes before "The Fire" in my own fanfictional timeline, and thus occurs sometime after Equal Rites.

6th-Jul-2005 01:05 am - GOOD OMENS: Goodbody; R, C/A
Good Omens - Aziraphael
Author's Note: Yes, I'm aware that the whole "bodies" thing in the Good Omens universe more than likely doesn't work this way, but it DID say that sometimes they have to go get new ones. And also I'm aware Buddhists aren't the only ones who are all over the reincarnation groove, but I sacrificed veracity for alliteration. :D

Goodbody )
5th-Jul-2005 03:11 pm - The Uncle; PG-13, R/S, AU
Alternate Universe
Author's Note: Just some AU silliness I came up with, featuring a crimelord called Uncle, Dumbledore's usual oblivious self, and the Dursleys getting what's been coming to them, Sopranos style.

5th-Jul-2005 03:06 pm - Captain My Own Soul, Gen, G.
Gen Fic
Summary: After his flight at the end of HBP, Draco ends up in a slightly unusual place -- with a very unusual new teacher...
Notes: "Invictus", the poem, is by William Earnest Henley and can be sung to the tune of Amazing Grace, The Yellow Rose Of Texas, or, in a pinch, the theme song to Gilligan's Island. I'm not sure who wrote Whiskey In The Jar, it's an old Irish tune, but apparently Metallica has done a cover of it...

Captain My Own Soul )
Alternate Universe
Summary: In an alternate universe, one man still struggles with a moral decision made many years before.
Warning: Themes of suicide; reference to major character death.

Reclamation )
Blue Moon Coffee
Summary: Remus has decided it's time to cure Tonks of her awkwardness, the only way he knows how. Post OotP.
Warnings: Um. Heterosexuality. (what a weird world where I have to warn for slash AND het).

The Literal Game )

Endnotes: Remus, of course, quotes many things in the Literal Game; among them Kipling's "Just So Stories", Vachel Lindsay's "Euclid" from "Poems about the Moon", Edwin Arlington Robinson's "Eros Turannos", and Keats' "Bright Star".

Lord Peter Wimsey
She instantly seized on the ones Peter calls "Little Mischief" and "The Lost Chord" and said, "Somebody who understood him took those -- was it Bunter?"
