Laocoon's Children
I've been meaning to go back to Laocoon's Children for a long time. I've talked about my hesitation and the reasons for it here (spoiler warnings for Torchwood S3, btw), and I decided finally, in the end, it's too much. There's too much to write, and I want to focus on my own original writing now. But I've felt guilty leaving it unfinished, so I wanted to post my notes.

Turns out I had a lot more notes than I expected. I even had scenes to share. I ended up having to separate it into two posts; there's a link at the bottom of this one to the second half.I spent most of today collating them and assembling them, and I may do Legion of Ghosts this weekend. Needless to say there are spoilers for the Harry Potter books in both sections.

This is a summary of what I had been planning to write, to finish this project. Some of it is a bit vague, and some of it has been adjusted to take in the last two books, which were published after this plotting was finished. I hope you enjoy it; I present it both with pride for what it is, and with my apologies that it isn't all it could be.

And that's the end. Thanks for reading, everyone, and I am sorry I can't make this live for you. You have been amazing.

Art post!

These have been stacking up a bit in my inbox, so I'm making up for lost time. :D The images are awesome but large, so I've lj-cut them. Behind the cut we have Hedwig and Glastonbury, Remus and Sirius, and Harry's Hilarious Waffle Flail!

Laocoon's Children
Note: This short story is one of several set during the summer holidays of the Stealing Harry alternate universe. It falls between the second and third years of Harry's attendance at Hogwarts; that would be CoS and PoA in canon, Secret Tongues and Fugitive From Azkaban in the Stealing Harryverse.
Rating: PG
Summary: Severus has invited Dora to an eclipse party -- and to stay the night. Nobody's very certain about the relationship, but as Ted Tonks says, the moon does funny things to people.

At one point in chapter 2, I have used dialogue verbatim from The Philosopher's Stone. This is intentional; Laocoon's Children is, after all, running parallel to the books. I don't intend this to become common practice, but I will post disclaimers whenever it occurs.

In this instance, much of Ollivander's interaction with Harry is lifted or paraphrased from the book.

How could I resist leaving Severus Snape's unusually poetic opening speech untouched? Well...almost untouched.

Year One, Ch 11 )

At one point in Chapter 12, I have used dialogue verbatim from The Philosopher's Stone. In this instance, sections of the Quidditch Match, especially Lee Jordan's commentary, have been lifted or paraphrased from the book.

In this chapter, I have used text verbatim from The Philosopher's Stone. In this instance, the card attached to Harry's cloak and the research Padma provides are quoted directly from canon.

Laocoon's Children, Year 3, Chapter 1 )

I am going to make it a habit to make notes and pimp LC fanart at the end of each posted chapter, simply because that makes it easiest; So!

[info]chicleeblair has posted a drawing of Snape, Remus, Harry, and Draco from the end of LCII, here.

Laocoon's Children
Beta Notes: My regular betas are [info]pinkfinity, [info]metallumai, [info]setissma and [info]villainny, all of whom are owed a great debt. As they work when and how they can, sometimes one or two of them miss a chapter. it is thus unfair to blame any of them for any fic errors you may find. :D Assisting on this chapter were [info]stapler and [info]maeritrae; you can go ahead and blame them. *wink*

Laocoon's Children, Year Three, Chapter Two )

End of chapter pimpage! A very apt one too. [info]freckles42 shares her animated take on The Daily Prophet report about the Fugitive from Azkaban. In addition, [info]merrymoll shares her take on LC Snape and [info]yanagiken's younger sister drew a picture of Stealing Harry Harry-with-Frog.
